[SOLVED] Gigabyte z390 motherboard flashing on and then off

This is my first ever build and when i went to turn everything on, the motherboard LEDs flashed for a second and then shut off. So I first removed all the connectors, except the 24 pin ATX connector and tried again. Same thing happened. I then removed the motherboard from the case, and tried it again. Same as before. I am not quite sure how to figure out what the true issue is here? I did also try a friends PSU and same thing happened again. How do I know if my motherboard is bad?

What CPU using? Have you tested with all case fans disconnected?

The only thing I have currently connected to the motherboard is the 24 pin ATX connector. Im using an i5-9600K

The motherboard is dead. Send it back and get a replacement.
I had that exact same thing happen with a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master.
Lights flickered on for a second, then nothing. Even tried the barebones setup. Same deal.

It looks indeed like a faulty board. Can you post a picture of it, as it is now?
