Hey guys, I am pulling my hair put.. I purchased a GIGABYTE Z77-D3H, LGA and a 3570k intel

I also bought HyperX FURY 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz CL10 DIMM Memory Module Kit - Black

If I put one ram stick in slot 1 it boots fine, If I put the second stick of ram in slot 2. BEEP BEEP BEEP Power shuts off.

Now ive noticed now the motherboard says it only supports up to 1600mhz ram

But someone said to me that the 1866 ram I bought should just go down to 1600mhz and it should just work, It does work if I put it in Slot 1 and Slot 3.... But surely that is not ideal. Cause its coming up Single Channel? Not duel channel like it should

Dual channel is when you put both sticks in same color slots (both sticks in white or both in blue).

It will downclock to 1600 without problem. But if one of your slots does not work, you may have bent pins on cpu socket. Put one stick in slot 2 only and see what happens.

well I did, put them both in the white slots which would be 1 and 2 slots. thats when it wont post. ive not tried putting them in blue slots which would be 3 and 4?

Ok thanks for your help, ive looked at the pins on the CPU someone suggested that, but I cant see any bent pins.Apart from one on the far right looks a bit funny, But i'm not sure if its bent or not and dont want to break it further lol

Post pictures if unsure.

I contacted the seller of the motherboard on ebay and he said, I think you have to use slot 1 and 3, which makes me think he knows Slot 2 is Broken. rahhh. Why sell a fully working board if its not. Sorry its been one of those days.
