Other then the few connector differences and such, is there any real reason to spend the extra $600 dollars (Canadian) on the Extreme board vs the regular? I know Aorus boards have better longevity, but I usually only keep my boards between 2 to 4 years max. Im doing content creation in 8K video with my system, so its geared for video editing. I also plan on getting a 5000 series GPU at some point. CPU will be the U265K. Memory will be 128GB of DDR5. I might try and get a 8TB Samsung 9100 SSD as well, but thats later. I want Thunderbolt 5. Any real reason for what I do to get the better board? Im sure lots of watts will be flowing through the system with everything installed, so heat could be an issue. I currently have a Thermaltake 1200 watt PSU.
