Hey guys. I'm building a rig and these two mobos are the best available in my country at their price range. Price is not a factor on getting one over the other since they cost almost the same. Which one should I go for?

Other parts of the rig I plan to get:
-i7 4790K
-Corsair Vengeance Pro Gold 2x4GB 1600MHz(if Asus MB) / G-Skill Sniper 2x4GB (if Gigabyte MB)
-Zalman Z11 Plus
-XFX 750W
-Asus GTX 970

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: not sure if G-Skill Sniper or Ripjaws X series.

motherboard benchmarks are marginal, even between $100 z97 boards and the $400 ones. Its not the performance that makes a difference, its the quality. If you want to get one soon I would just order Gigabyte, if you don't mind waiting a few days, I'd send them an email since it doesn't take that long.
ASUS Z97-A, if it were up to me. I have always been partial to ASUS motherboards. I currently own the ASUS Z97 Maximus VII Hero, and one of the best motherboards I've owned to date. Very well built, very stable, great overclocker (if you are into that), and just an all-around great board. All of the ASUS Z97 motherboards, from what I've read, are great performers compared to other Z97 MBs in the same class. The ASUS Z97-A also has a GREAT UEFI BIOS. Very nice BIOS navigation for a novice and a seasoned overclocker. ASUS Z97-A also offers the Intel Gigabit LAN, which many will say it does have benefits over the Killer LAN solution.

Either way you go, ASUS or the Gigabyte, you will be good imo. If it were my choice to do, it would for sure be the ASUS tho.

I prefer the asus myself. For some reason I've used 3 gigabyte motherboards and I had issues with all 3 of them. Now I'm sure plenty of people had the opposite experience as me especially with the great reputation that gigabyte has. It's just with my luck it's jaded me on their motherboards.

Yeah guys, to be honest I like Asus better in general. Their products quality is unmatched, but I think I'm going for the Gigabyte's Mobo for the following reasons:
1. Official 3-year warranty vs non-official 6 months warranty on Asus' Mobo
2. Aesthetics
3. Prefer G-Skill's sticks over Corsair Vengeance's

The store I'd buy the Asus one from doesn't provide official warranties. On the other hand, the place I'm buying the Gigabyte's from does.

Nope, not a bundle. But aesthetically, G-Skill's sticks would look much better on the G3 board. That's why I said I'd buy the Corsair Vengeance Pro Gold if I went for the Asus' Z97-A. A purely aesthetical decision.

Really? I live in Argentina. The 3rd party seller of the Asus gives a 6 months warranty for all the products signed by them, not official warranties. Are you sure I would still be able to register it anyways?

I cannot answer that tbh.. But, if you contact ASUS on this, send them a support email or something of the sort, they would be able to better answer that. http://www.service.asus.com/#!international/c1j73

Thanks a ton, will do. Lets be honest though. Is this motherboard worth going through that? You honestly think it is that much better than the Gigabyte one? I saw a couple benchmarks and Gigabyte's scored better in all games they tested.

Both motherboards will do the job nicely.. I'm just partial to ASUS motherboards over Gigabyte. Either board you choose you will not go wrong with to be honest.

True that. And I did say I also prefer Asus over Gigabyte. Thing is,I only have 20 hours left on an offer that lets me pay it in 12 installments (monthly-payments, English is not my native language, I hope you understand what I mean) so yeah, I'd need to get a reply ASAP. Plus I double checked and Gigabyte's is 20 usd cheaper than Asus' so if they don't answer in time I'll go for the G3.
