I recently bought a new Gigabyte Z97X SOC FORCE motherboard for my SLI gaming computer because I was having reboot issues and my IT guy said theres a good chance my motherboard was pretty much fried. So I bought this one, got everything installed, and it wont power on. The Power button on the board itself lights up (orange) but it does nothing. The front buttons on the case (power, reset) dont seem to do anything even though I tried multiple confisgurations just in case I got the positives and negatives mixed up. I read on another forum here that another guy was having same problems, and when he pressed the "OC Ignition" button (thunderbolt) it powered on. So I tried this and it worked, but I dont have GPU or On-Board video. I thought maybe my PSU was dead too, so I hooked up my backup and it was doing the same thing. Tried different wall sockets too. Ive been having constant problems with my PC as I just rebuilt it, I was having reboot problems on my first attempt, determined the PSU I bought wasnt capable of the load I was putting on it, So i bought a Corsair TX850 and that solved that for about a week. So for a week my PC was running flawlessly, then out of nowhere it started rebooting itself again. It would reboot itself under any kind of load except light web browsing and standby, so it would reboot when play game or streaming any kind of video. Gave it to my IT guy at work because I was fed up of the problems, been about a month of trying to get it to work with 1 week of it actually working. Like I said at beginning, he did tests and noticed the motherboard was running hot and that was the probable cause, so he suggested buying a new motherboard.
Heres my component list:
-Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM (4 sticks)
-Corsair H100i Liquid Coling unit
-Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (2 of them running SLI)
-Corsair TX850 power supply
Gigabyte Z97X SOC Force Motherboard
-Intel i7-4790k cpu
-240GB Crucial SSD
-2TB Samsung HDD
-3 case fans +the 2 with H100i so 5 total
-Windows 7 Pro OS
Im starting to get really frustrated with this build, been putting countless time and money into it to no avail. Everytime I fix one thing something else seems to go wrong haha. IT guy didnt even entirely know what was wrong. I also tried a clean OS install before I got the new SOC Force mobo btw, just a fyi. My Backup PSU is a Corsair TX650. Thanks for reading
