Question Gigabyte Z97X v5 No Boot When RAID Activated

Hi folks,

Just configuring a new/old Gigabyte Z97X v5 with 4790k.
All seems OK.
However when I enable RAID it won't boot.
Starts Auto Repair util but doesn't help.

Have an M.2 boot drive. As well as a standard HDD, now deprecated.

Have tried unchecking RAID for M.2
No diff.

When I disable RAID it all boots fine.

Any tips?

Do you have any disks in any RAID configuration ? A single disk or SSD should be set as AHCI only.

Thanks for super speedy reply. I did make a 2x1tb R0 array.
How do I set individual drives to AHCI?

Disk config
2x 1TB into RAID0 when functioning
1x 1TB deprecated
1x M.2 boot drive

OK, some progress, can boot into safe mode. But it's booting to the old HDD, not the M.2 only

It seems it boots fine to the BIOS. If the OS was not installed in RAID mode, then it won't boot to the OS in that mode.

You can have single non-RAID drives in RAID mode. RAID on Z97 motherboard is also AHCI.
