In Los Santos, head down to the BMX park (Right next to the hospital)
and then head along the road going west. A Fire Truck is normally
parked up next to a building. If it's not there, go away and come back
(It's a permanent spawn).
In San Fierro, simply head south from your Doherty garage hideout and
you'll find the Fire Station. The Fire Truck is in the south-west of
the Fire Station area.
I'm not sure if anybody else has noticed this, but sometimes the Fire
Truck parked in SF doesn't allow you to do the fire missions. Reason?
It doesn't have a hose, and instead is the same style Fire Truck
Tenpenny drives in 'End Of The Line'.

I'd give up using a helicopter, objects often don't appear as the game
doesn't need to spawn them what with you being so high up and
everything.

They're not marked on the map sadly, one thing I'd love to see in a GTA
is random fires with the service getting called out properly. I'm a
stickler for extra realism
)
An easy way to get a Fire Truck is to blow up a car (Which gives you a
wanted star) or throw molotovs at the same spot for a while (Ditto).
When it comes along, jack it, but watch out as the firemen really don't
like their vehicles being purloined. After that, drive to a hideout and
save it in the garage.
Cheers,
Rob
