Hello
I am planning on replacing my 3070 but I am completely lost in between choosing an RTX 3090 which is already down to 1200$ (and would be 1000$ in black Friday?) and the cheapest of the 4080 aka 12gb which is 800$ MSRP but as usual will cost easily 1000 to 1100$ branded by Asus or Gigabyte
Given Nvidia, the 4080 12 should be as good as the 3090 without DLSS and x1.5 better with DLSS 3
But will the hardware configuration itself of the 4080 12gb be a problem for performance VS the 3090? Add to that the ''limited'' 12gb VS 24gb
What do you think?

General rule everyone would say, don't upgrade from a gpu to another of the same gen, wait at least 1 gen, 2 is more optimal in case you have a powerful one of current gen.
We can't talk if next gen gpus are worth it or not, Nvidia just puts out some vague biased numbers for marketing so far, so wait for reviews.
You can't go wrong with 3090 either, fat & high quality ampere silicon that'll last you years with all that video memory & horsepower, but a 4080 will probably outperform it 2 month from today.
