GLBSSTUB error?

Never had this problem before with this app, which I've had for a few
years now. Recent hdd re-install, too. I get this error a few
moments into the app installation:

"GLBSSTUB caused a general protection fault
in module ~GLC0003.TMP at 0003:00005ebb."

From this page http://www.transactive.com.au/support/glbsstub.html, I
found the only constructive help for this problem, it seems, but the
solution didn't work. I have a bat cleaner file that cleans out all
my temp folders by deleting them. Since they get re-created on OS
startup, no problems there. I did the commandline with switch but,
again, problem not fixed.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I really need to get this
program back up and running. I have Win98SE.

Thanks! 😱D

When I call it before shutting down.

<rofl> Are you serious??? Oh, gosh, that's the trouble. I _can't_
successfully install the problem app. <chuckling>

<smile>

<lol>

Okay, I'll try this.

Thanks.

I afterwards figured out you meant ... "until after you've done the
steps below" <lol>.

Anyway, the steps below didn't work. But I didn't think they would.
If my bat that actually totally _deletes_ the folders didn't fix this,
my going in to manually delete data wasn't going to work. I'd also
gone that route. There are things that get dumped into the temp
folders on startup that cannot be deleted manually.

Nope this just isn't going to work. I just did an hdd wipe/reinstall.
Obviously one of the apps I've recently trialed dumped a file
somewhere even though I've uninstalled them all. I've cleaned the
registry a couple of times with a regcleaner and have run Ad-Aware,
etc. So it looks like I'm going to have to install again. I'll try
an overlay install, but was hoping to avoid this because I just
installed 24 security windows updates <sigh>.

Here we go again ...

Thanks much. I really appreciate the help.

If there are "things that get dumped into the temp folders on startup that cannot be
deleted manually", you don't have a very clean startup group. I can delete the
entire contents of my Temp folder upon startup, and in fact the machines I maintain
at work all have a .bat file that deletes the temp folder from a shortcut in the
StartUp folder, during startup.

If you have not already reinstalled, try doing your problem installation after doing
a clean boot:
