YOU ARE CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF…….

DO YOU want to hear these words and fly as real as it gets while seeing
the planes around you taking off and land fluently?
This is possible through our unique and very user friendly peer to peer
software package “SquawkWin”.
You will see the aircrafts around you in the livery of the company they
fly with or even in our unique Globalsim livery.

DO YOU want to speak these words yourself as one of our controllers?
Just sit behind the radar screen of our beautiful ATC software “GsRc”.
And be sure you will get the helping hand of our “real life”
controllers and pilots.

Never flown on line or controlled before? No problem! We will help you
on your way with our newcomer evenings or on our voice “Nightshift”
help channel.

Our formula and management structure are very innovative, and will set
an new direction in the FS world.

The network management takes care of daily operations ( technical
maintenance, software development, promotional activities, rulemaking),
but does not control the divisions or individual members.
Divisions and members have complete freedom to do what they want, of
course within the general rules of GlobalSim.

Country divisions can manage themselves independently and thus also
create a unique culture.

Keywords of GlobalSim are:
1: Pleasure
2: realism
3: Behaviour
4: Bearing Surface
5: Results

Want to try it? Just hop on board, by becoming a member for FREE
at:http://www.globalsim.org

Virtual Airlines that fly with Globalsim can submit their livery with
our GS-AI team. This team will convert this livery to a self-installing
package that everybody can download and so will be seen by all when
flown in it.

“A new concept, a new experience, a new challenge.”

Hope to see you soon in the air!

So, you don't mind that it sends your passwords and other personal data
back to the server then?

I do believe that's the definition of a Trojan is it not?

Hi Bill,

But Squawkwin don't sent passwords or other personal data from members
to the server.

So, Squawkwin isn't a Trojan Horse.

Try, and you will see.

Peter Bloemheuvel.

I'm sorry, but I trust AVSIM's Matt Johnson's technical evaluation and
testing to be of more value than a simple statement of alleged fact.

Did you READ the article I linked to, or are you being obtuse?

http://www.avsim.com/pages/0804/squawkwin/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therefore, the URL:

GET
/index.php?SQUAWKWINCHECKVERSION=5DC654433Q1_F321101_92O3_E3Kfnmr_72P3_04XQSOE_82O6_E3VFVUGS_92O6_E36223_C36_82O8_E3_B3937_B35
HTTP/1.1

....decrypts to:

* First Name: Hello
* Last Name: WORLD
* Callsign: TESTER
* CID: 310295
* Password: 980694

....and hence it becomes obvious that the developers of SquawkWin have
succeeded in producing a software which not only acts as a client, but also
collects users' personal information.

At this point, we simultaneously alerted colleagues at both VATSIM and IVAO
to our findings, and spread the word that SquawkWin was not behaving in a
trustworthy manner, having managed to decipher an entire set of personal
data being sent to the developers' webserver. This lead to AVSIM's
preliminary news posting on the subject last night.

As of this morning, "The SunTeam's" response was to close their forums, and
to post an announcement (as-is):

We have developped this nice software only to share fun with simmers,
so why this free spitefulness. We were flying with SquawkWin since two
months and still improving it.

WE ARE SIMMERS, PROGRAMMERS AND HAVE DONE THAT WORK WITH PASSION!

Whatever...we will show to pilots that we are not bad boys.
This SquawkWin version check bothers some people? All right we remove
it!
It was usefull only in beta version for debuging purpose, allowing us
to give you the best.

A new version is NOW available for download without this very very very
big "security risk".

We hope everybody will be happy now ;-)
