Hi!

Can someone please tell me some "Glossy" Screen Monitor models becowse I don't seem to find any. I have Benq FP91V+ witch served me well, but now I want to buy a wide screen one (22",21"). I just don't get it why almost all laptops on the market have glossy screens(polish screens whatever) as for pc's are none...

Thanks anticipated !

Glossy screens reflect light rather than absorb it so their easier to see in sunlight, the glossy surface keeps them from being washed out. That same glossy reflective screen is annoying when used for a desktop so that's why there aren't any.

I have a Benq FP91V+ with "polish screen" for over 4 years and didn't had such problem. I want to buy a glossy screen monitor becowse despite of it's old tehnology the colors and sharpness is much better than many new LCDs on the market. Please explain how is it annoying becowse I can't understand why. Thanks!

Guess this thread is a little old, but I just did some resarrch on this. You can search newegg LCD's for "gloss" and that will return some but not all they carry. The HP's that can be spun into portrait mode with the cool stand, W2*, are all glossy. At least some of the Acer "P" series are glossy, at least some of the the Dell SP and (I think all) including SP2008WFP are glossy. I notice that some monitors have a description that says "glossy bezel" which all of the glossy screen LCD's I've seen have, just to make thinkgs more confusing.

The glossy screens make colors look richer but show much more glare, maybe even more than CRT's. This Anandtech article, HP w2207: Shiny 22" Perfection" goes into it a little bit.
