Hi i'm a gamer, i play games like HL2, BF2, F.E.A.R, Oblivion, Farcry, Doom3/Quake4. ITs summer and i need to upgrade a internal component in for my pc. I was wondering if i should upgrade to a HIS X1900XT with a new OCZ MODStream 450Watt psu, or go conroe with E6300, a ASUS P5B and 1gb of corsair ram. DO you think its even worth upgrading a card now? Right now im using a x800xl, it can fairly handle some games, but i just cant get the eye candy i want.

Heres jsut the main components taht are mostly significant

CPU: AMD ALTHON 64 3500+ Venice (939) @ 2.2GHZ

MOBO: MSI K8N Neo4-F S.939 (Nforce4 mobo)

RAM: OCZ PC-3200 DDR400 Enhanced Latency Gold Edition 1GB (2x512MB) -> Timings oc'd 2-2-2-5

Video Card : Powercolour x800xl 256mb -> 400/1000

and the rest, case is a centurion 5, hdd is a segate 160mb, disk drive, is 16x lg dvd writer , PSU is stock 350 watt from cooler master. etc.

So what u guys think i shoulg ugprd to?

I would go with the graphics card upgrade... it's going to be the more limiting factor in your setup while playing games. The A64 3500 is a good CPU, but you could also use 2GB of RAM... THEN you'd have a great setup. GOOD LUCK! :)

I'd say card psu.
Since your stuck DDR not DDR2 I'd say make do with the ram you have.
Unless you have another 2 slots then try to get a 2x512 deal mebe for cheap but know next machine etc they'll be useless to you.
You don't really need a conroe now.
