Go for the R7 1700 or the R5 1600?

Hello :)
Currently I'm using the i5 3470.
This CPU is literally an OVEN in heavy games, It gets to 85 Celsius degrees and is making the room hotter by 5-8 degrees... I literally sweat while playing.

I'm now upgrading to a Ryzen CPU, But I do not know to which one - The R7 or the R5?
The difference between them here is about 140$.

As I understand, The R7 is codler overall and comes with a better stock cooler, And of course 2 more cores, Which makes the CPU ALOT more future proof.
(I do gaming, But I don't want to upgrade every 4 years...)

But is it worth the additional price?
Thanks for reading & maybe answering 😛
(The rest: ASRock X370 Killer, 2x8gb Corsair LPX 3200mhz c16)

Or should I go for the 7700k? Will it be worse in thermals than the 3470 without delidding?

Solution
If you can afford it, go with the R7 over the R5. At some point, you'll realize the benefit of the extra cores and wish you spent the extra then. I have an i5 Haswell and realized I should have gone with an i7 at the time as I started using my computer for other things than what I originally designed it for. The R5 offers no advantage over the R7 on any level, even overclocking. If you're going to spend the money on a new CPU, spend the extra and get exactly what you want. :)

Heavy gaming + Skype + Some firefox tabs + iTunes.
Nothing else, But maybe some little 3d renders in the future (only images)

Most people are going to say Ryzen, but I have had no issues with the 7700k my friend is using. I would go with the 7700k personally as Intel has never failed on me before.

I've thought about the 7700k...
1. It's hotter by alot
2. It's less future proof
3. It literally requires delid to OC it and not burning the damn house

I care more about comfort with the CPU than more 8% fps to be honest...

Are you sure?
How much years will it survive?
is it better than the R7 or the i7?
(The i7 costs me 225$, R5 costs 280$ And the R7 425$)

And Ryzen 1700 would be more "future proof" (hate that term), but will cost you more. I can't recommend any 4 core cpu to someone that wants to keep it 3-4 years. More cores will only become more useful ahead. The 7700k is a great gaming chip... but over time you will want the cores. The 1600 is best bang of the buck.

Will the 1700 hold for more 3 years than the 1600?
Why do you hate that term?

My friend have a Mac from 2003 with 2 of 3 core xeons.
It holds up until today.
So yeah future proof exists 😛
But the 2 core difference, is it worth more 140$?
(But it's also cooler and have a better stock cooler so i'd say 100$)

I can afford it, And I really do regret about not going for the i7 3770...
I will go ryzen 7, Thanks man :)
