"Go to hell" is usually consider as an insult...
The insult for me is that i cant create an Hell game even if i killed
NM Baal !
I just killed the bastard (in a private PW game), and, nevertheless,
cant access to hell level. Since i was wondering if i missed
something, i killed him a second time, but i am still unable to go to
hell!
My character profile is still saying: last difficulty completed:Normal
!!
I am clvl 65....could that be too low to go to hell?
(USEast,HC,Ladder)
Perplex should be my last name...

theres a bug in the client that requires you to log out from your character
in order to create the next difficulty lvl game after beating the previous
one... re logging in should fix it assuming you needed + met the quest
requirements

Make sure you can complete the quest by checking with the 'Q' key.
Did you make the game ? Or did someone else ?

Misfit and Kylel4 were right...I logged out of BNet and then was able
to create a Hell game after that.... Sorry for my momemt of panic 😉
But after a try in hell, (the Den quest) i am afraid that i will go
back in NM to level a bit more..... At clvl 65 it seems a bit risky !!

It's maybe a bit early, but I changed to hell with my fire trapper at
clvl 65 too. So technically it's possible (I even met lower level
characters in hell, like a clvl 43 amazone who surely wasn't having much
fun there).

There seems to be two ways to finish the quest:

1) Take the red "end of destruction" portal
2) Go back to Harrogath and quit the game

I'm not sure if it suffices to kill baal and quit the game as long as
you are in the worldstone chamber. I can tell, that at least once, this
didn't work for me, but I also had network trouibles that day and blamed
my broken connection - I had killed baal before the connection broke,
but the kill didn't seem to count for some reason.

Since then I always rush for the red portal as fast as I can.

From my experiance, just going back to the char selection screen is enough.
You don't need to exit the game or go back to the account selection screen.

I don't view it as a bug, it is just that your status doesn't get updated
till your title changes in the selection screen. Unless you can read that
you are no longer a slayer and are now a champion (in sc) it isn't true.

At clvl 65+, your best XP will come from Hell-Baal runs with a full game of
people :)

After you killed Baal, did you use the "Destruction's End" red portal
and get the final movie?

Yes Doodles it is my shinny Trang's Oul necro.... The first
assignement(?) he had with his full kit (clvl 65)was the Ancients...It
was a bit hard, but no need of health or rejuv pots!Just patience..
After that, Baal (NM) and his minions were really easy.
In Hell, it was a bit different though....the smallest monster was
giving him a good challenge !!
I will have to level a bit more i think, before fighting those hell's
shitheads..

So is this a "hell" thing? I've always gotten the Baal quest in normal just
by partying with someone
who completes it. I can be in town and still get the quest.

If he's a summoner, you shouldn't be having any problems in early Hell at
level 65. Your merc should be able to kill stuff in Cold Plains Act 1, and
a set of 10 or so skells with some revivs is all I use for the rest of Hell.
Trangs set is fine, but I've found it tempts people into thinking they
should be doing most of the killing, and Summoners shouldn't be killing
anything, their minions do it all.

On the other hand, if your merc is having problems killing in act 1 hell, it
might be because he hasn't levelled high enough or has poor equipment. A
Hone Sudan or similar should be available for pgems in trade, and it is
enough to get the merc started

Roulette...Hell Baal runs are a favorite for PKers.

Sorry, it seems I was just wrong. I don't know why I didn't get the
quest in the case that I described above. According to the other
messages in this thread it should've worked. IIRC the accident happened
with normal difficulty Baal, so if the problem exists, it's not a hell
only problem.
