[SOLVED] GoDaddy cpanel file manager conflicts with FTP client

The list of files and folders I see in my GoDaddy web hosting account using cpanel file manager are different from what I see in my FTP client. I can create a new folder in the cpanel file manager that doesn't appear in FTP and vice-versa even after refreshing both. What could possibly be going on here? GoDaddy thinks it's my FTP client but I've tried two different ones with the same result. This is starting to feel like the Twilight Zone.

I bet they are both in two different places on the server. Check your paths.

Correct! GoDaddy changed the IP address for the web storage associated with one of my registered domain names and duplicated the storage area. I don't know why they did this or why they didn't tell me they were doing it. I suppose it made for a good practical joke.
