GOG galaxy download issue

Ok so i got witcher 3 with my gpu and i have 100MB ethernet and 72MB wifi and i still only get around 0.2 mb/s on download so what is the issue because i dont feel like waiting 3 days to play the game

Have you tried downloading it from GOG regularly?

Remember WiFi is half duplex. Basically you see 72Mbps but down is 36Mbps and up is 36Mbps. Max you would get it about 3.5MB/s down and up.

I highly suggest using a wired connection to make the most of your internet unless you happen to have a very good AC grade router that can give you 200Mbps or better.

nope the highest i can get wired is at 100mbs which is still fairly slow

100Mbps, if GOGs servers can give that much, is about 10MB/s. The game is 35GB download so that means it would take about 1 hour to download at 10MB/s.

Nope i guesd its just at&t because even when using ethernet and gog downloader i still get the same speeds. Thank god my dads switching to comcast they are so much better

I don't want to burst your bubble but in the cable arena Comcast is pretty rough sometimes too. However cable is better in that it had higher end top speeds.

I just wish Verizons FiOS was more widespread.

well we are getting the 50mbs download set just because its the same price as the load speeds we are getting from at&t

In NYC our cable provider is Optimum, they give a free AC router to anyone who has their internet. See if Comcast gives AC router to you as well.

I had so many issues with WiFi over the years, as much as i hate wires i still have one wire going straight to the PC, but i keep Xbox One on Wifi.

It's not so much age as how good it was even when you bought it.

If you bought the cheapo ones than it's probably got the slower wifi specs.
they had more expensive ones 4 years ago that more aimed at "gaming."
