I have a tx650 corsair enthusiast Power supply. I was wondering if in the future i would need a new power supply if i was going to add a second gtx 670 to my rig. My cpu is a i5 4670k and my mobo is a z87-a
Yup. Fraid so. Ive got dual 670's myself and I average a watt pull of around 750W under load. Grabted this is with 2 HEAVILY OC'd 670's and an PC'd CPU as well.
But i wont need to buy another untill a far time into the future and chances are i will probably just buy a new card then because im sure the price of a new psu + a new gtx 670 will just add up to a new card that will only take up to 650. Am i correct?
Apologies for the late reply. Man I wish humans didn't have to sleep. XD
Well, it depends on how long you leave it. If you leave it so long that the 800 series has been put a few months then you will probably find you can pick up a 670 dirt cheap. 🙂
There is an advantage to only using one card though, and that is less power usage.
