Hi everyone! I’ve been saving up some money, and I’ve decided to buy a new gaming PC pre-built. I know that buying the parts separately and trying to build it myself would be much cheaper, but I’m willing to pay the extra premium if it means there’s a much smaller likelihood of problems happening during the build. Besides, I don’t have the spare time for a project like that (especially if something goes wrong).

I was hoping you might be able to help me with choosing the right parts for my needs. I have a budget of around $1,000, and I want to be able to play on any game, 1080p, at or near max settings at 60 fps. I would also like this machine to be capable of achieving that goal in games coming out in the future, several years down the road. The build have put together so far is right here: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1HTGYM

A problem I have right now is deciding on a GPU. I’m stuck between the Nvidia gtx 970 “4” gb and the AMD r9 390x 8gb. I’m leaning towards the r9 since it has much more vram, but I’m also aware that it has heating and power usage problems (and worse driver support?). What do you think? Which card would be better, in the long run?

I’d appreciate any advice on this build that you can offer. Thank you!

EDIT --) For some reason, the build linked above is now over budget at $1146. No idea why. Hmm...

If you will be patient for a while, Nvidia is going to launch GPU with Pascal architecture anytime soon, and it's worth waiting for. Or at least prices of Nvidia GPUs will be slashed.
Can't say same about Asus, yes, 390x is a beast, but should you need it for 1080p? I would recommend waiting for a while to enjoy price cuts.
