Okay, so I have one XFX 4870 1GB, and I'm looking to put another in my system. I'm running a cooler master 600W with a Phenom II 955, 4GB of Corsair Dominator, a WD 640GB black HD and one DVD drive. Sorry if this may be obvious, but do I need a new PSU to Crossfire two 4870s? I've read posts by some saying I need 800w, and some saying they havent seen theirs peak about 500w. I really just need to know If my wattage will be okay, I have two 6 pin cables, and two 4 pin to 6 pin adapters, so that won't be a problem. If I should upgrade, what PSU should I get?

I'm running two sapphire 4870's on this:

before that I used a 750 watt ultra that had a 45a on the 12 rail and it ran it but if i overclocked (my 720 PH II X3) and cards I would have crashes.

Well, I have no need of overclocking for the time being, and if need be, I'll just drop by Micro center or Newegg and pick up a 750W corsair. So a 600W would run fine then you think? From what I understand, Cooler Master makes good products.

well its only got a 12 rail of 40a (total of 480w)and that is lower than what I had on the ultra (45a total of 540w) I would say you could try it but with only 40a it maybe cutting it close. If you had something like this

it would probably work better because of the higher rail.

P.S.(besides the overclocking factor, the system seemed to run a lot hotter that it should with the ultra.)
