Hi I've finally decided on the graphics card I want for my pc build and decided that I'm going to get the RX Vega 64 when it releases on the 14th. I want to game in 4k, and seeing as I am a supporter of AMD and the Vega will perform at the level of a 1080 I could do it. I just wanted your guy's opinions on whether my choices in parts are good or not. Thanks in advance for replies and opinions!

Right then, simply put, no-one knows how the vega 64 will do at 4k, AMD might but they are saying nothing. The 1080 does not perform brilliantly at 4k, only the 1080ti performance adequately. So wait for 2 weeks until th ebenchmakrs come out and then decide what to do, crossfire vega 56 perhaps?

TBH, being a 'supporter' is nice in theory, but in practise buy what suits your performance needs and your budget, else you are always going to spend more than you need to for less performance that you want.

^ Totally agree. If Vega performs as expected and is roughly equal to a 1080 ( this is the $699 liquid cooled model they are comparing to the 1080 BTW ) it's not a 4K card. You need a 1080 Ti unless you are happy with lowered settings.

Also AMD is apparently dropping Crossfire support for Vega.

This sort of makes sense as the Vega Frontier Edition pulled a massive 450 watts when it was overclocked. You could potentially really need a 1300w power supply or more for 2 of them. And even then they would only be a little more powerful than a single 1080 Ti.
