Hi, i definitely need an upgrade from my sempron 3400+ 1 core and i think i might as well do a complete overhaul. I have the HDD already along with monitor mouse keyboard. I was hoping for Intel but if AMD has reliable boards then great. Also I was hoping for NVIDIA but if there's an AMD GPU that works well then good too, I know that certain parts made by the same manufacture work well together. Please give me suggestions so I can get the most for my money thanks

you can remove the ssd, but it does make the computer start up really fast. And yes the r9 is good.

For nvidia go with a gtx760

ok i'm looking for a computer to play games efficiently and well but im not looking for anything fancy (obviously). 700$ should be my budget. Honestly you could give me a core 2 duo and it'd be an improvement, remember i'm used to a 1 core cpu and a 512 mb gpu with 2gb of ram. I'm sure what you recommend to me will be more than enough.

Right now there is no more Core 2 Duos, but Intel's Core CPUs and they have Celeron, Pentium, Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7.
All of these will be blazing fast compare to your current single core system with 512MB GPU and 2GB of ram. AMD would be your best option when you're on a budget.
