Question Good BIOS and system settings for a Ryzen 9 9950X3D ?

Hi everyone....

Yesterday I took possession of my new computer. Specs as follows:

Motherboard : ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D (Base: 4.3GHz, Boost: 5.7GHz / 128MB L3 Cache / AM5 / 16 Core / 32 Threads
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G SHADOW 3X OC

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB Black 64GB (2x32GB) PC5-48000 (6000MHz) DDR5, CL30-40-40-96, 1.40V, Dual Module Kit, AMD Ready, AMD EXPO

SSD: Samsung 4TB SSD, 990 EVO PLUS, M.2 2280 NVMe 2.0 PCIe 4.0
PSU: ASUS ROG STRIX 1200W Platinum Power Supply, 80PLUS Platinum


This PC is going to mainly be used for CPU rendering with 3DSMAX and V-ray renderer. The bios ATM is at default settings. I had a look at the bios and it was a bit overwhelming. Does anyone have any advice on what settings I should change to maximize the system performance without burning out the cpu. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First thing, if you haven't is update the BIOS on your motherboard. Then enable AMD's E.X.P.O in BIOS. Then you can use Ryzen Master's Curve Optimizer and undervolt the CPU. Undervolt the GPU as well.

The bios has been updated to latest. Like you mentioned, I want to undervolt both CPU and GPU to keep the temps down, but maximize speed. Not interested in games or FPS.....purley a render machine. I have a pretty heavy VFX scene here, and the CPU hits 84 degrees on every frame but no higher......Lighter scene's is around 74 degree's. This is on bios default settings with EXPO enabled. I'd be more comfortable at around 10- 15 degrees cooler for longevity. Are their any good guides out their on a decent undervolt bios setup for the Asus. Ive's watched a few vids.....some say do this do that.....all core's, induvidual cores....gets quite confusing.
