Looking for a nicely budgetted 6300 board, overclocking isn't something I intend to do, just looking to play open world games like skyrim and batman arkham knight when it comes out Cheers!
I built a budget PC for my father in law a couple years ago with an amd fx 6300. I used an Asrock 970 pro3 motherboard. I even gave it a little overclock up to 4.2ghz and it has been perfectly fine.
If you want a cheap matx this should be your only choice

In terms of performance, compared to a 760GM p23 FX mobo, would it be a downgrade or an upgrade? My current one and current cpu died at the exact same time somehow, so I was bundling it with a 6300. As well as is the 6300 vs a 4300 a good upgrade or no?
The gigabyte is a LOT better board mate seriously.
6300 vs 4300 ?? 2 more cores ,slightly slower base clock - at stock speeds not much difference for most games.
You can overclock a 6300 on the little gigabyte though with no problem at all.

100$ish cpu, what do you think would be my best bet as an upgrade?

119.59 would be what I have left to work with, if that helps any lol
