This would be better, rather use MSI or asrock for the B350s, as the power stuff from asus looks a bit disappointing on B350 series.

This one's also over budget by $35 but it is also a more powerful.

Changes? 6GB 1060 instead of 3GB.

1500X quad core instead of 6100 dual core.

250GB SSD instead of a 120GB SSD.

Removed the Cryorig. The 1500X includes its own cooler. You can always upgrade later like you said you will.

Gold rated PSU instead of bronze.

Drawback to the above build is the DDR4 memory is only 2133. Ryzen likes faster memory. With a 1400, if he's overclocking, he may not see much difference performance wise.

Agreed. I have ddr4 2400 now. It is what the budget allowed for. But at microcenter, my sales guy said it would be basically a minute difference. So might see a few frames drop off but compared to the original i3 build....should be much better.
