Hi guys i was wondering if you lovely people could help me out here regarding a recommendation of a CPU cooler for my AMD A8-7600. I have recently built a computer around this APU and was unimpressed with the stock coolers performance (between 45-55 C in bios), it's built in a mATX case and mobo so i don't want anything too tall or too wide so before anyone says it the CM Hyper 212 EVO is not an option as its too heavy as well, so any recommendations are appreciated.

What is your case model? Maybe cooler master hyper 103 is good option.

If your motherboard doesn't have vrm heatsink only go with top down coolers like the Scythe Big
Shuriken 2 Rev. B
If your mobo does have vrm heatsinks and good case cooling then you can pretty much go with any cooler you like.

I currently don't have access to the PC, but regardless i don't need to check my temperature again I've pretty much determined that a new cooler is necessary.

It's a Ace Ecco 250, plenty of height imo for even the evo i just want a compact cooler because i tend to move the computer between rooms sometimes.

Thanks for the help, do you have a recommendation for something slightly cheaper than the Shuriken you recommended?

I have used the overdrive method of determining my temps already and to be honest they are pretty standard and reasonable, I'm not a fan of the noise though and a better cooler overall will sustain the life span of the processor in the long term.
