Good Budget CPU for gaming for laptop

So am planning on getting a new laptop for gaming and I can't decide on a cpu : what's better an AMD apu or an i5 processer? Also heard of dx12 coming out so will the Intel HD graphics benefit from it?

GPU matters more than CPU for gaming. If it doesn't have a dedicated GPU, it most likely will not game very well.

So the demonstration by Microsoft on DX 12 was a load of BS?

DX 12 might help, but for games, a current gen dedicated GPU is almost always better. Maybe some bottom of the barrel dedicated cards that are not much better, if at all. Anything you would remotely consider for gaming, will be faster.
