the amd line of mb been dead for a long time. the intel z97 chipset is newer and better, the i3 having two cores is a better gaming cpu. if he can add few bucks more get the 4590 at micro center for 160.00

with the higher end amd cards you need min 600w power supply. also sdome of the newer cards are cheaper then the older card he hard picked out.
