Good Build for Budget Gaming PC With Older CPU?

I'm attempting to build a PC from scratch but in order to minimize costs, I'm planning to use the CPU from an older desktop instead of buying a new CPU. This is my current part list and would like to hear how others think it looks.

The gpu doesn't make any sense, just because it's new doesn't automatically make it better than things like the gtx 970. The 970 is still slightly better, it's cheaper, and more popular for a reason(because it's awesome)

That ramstick is overly expensive and makes 0 sense to buy, you get literally get 2 4gb sticks instead for the same price.

I recommend getting a cheaper motherboard, one that's like half the price preferably because it doesn't really impact the performance..... at all.

You can get an SSD and install your OS on it for godly speeds with the money I saved you

You can also get a much better HDD that 1 terabyte instead of 500 gigs(double) or for about 10$ more you can get 2 terabytes.

I would also add 2 case fans, that are like 3$ each, you can pick ones you like.
