I stand corrected. But, I believe that if you would CF a 5850 and a 5830, the dual card performance is knocked down to the less powerful card, meaning that a 5850 and a 5830 CF'd would offer the performance of 2 5830's, right?

Technically you can crossfire any 5800 series card. But unless you are just getting a screaming cheap deal on an oddball card, it would be pretty senseless to get anything other than another 5850, right? If you got a 5870 for instance, both cards would be still be limited to the speed of 2 -5850's in crossfire. If you got a 5830, both cards would be limited to the speed of crossfired 5830's. So do whatever works for you........
I know about the 1 card holding back the stronger card. Only reason why I was thinking going with a 5830 because it would be the cheapest why to crossfire and would take alittle stress off the 5850.
Now thinking about it another 5850 would be better, or even a 5870 if the price was right. I just can't find a 5850 for $100-$150 (maybe $200 but I really don't wanna pay $200).
