Hey I have no clue what I am doing and am a complete novice. I purchased this case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811148047) which comes with a built in 480W PSU, but I planned to upgrade it. I purchased the Radeon R7 260x and am now looking for a solid PSU that isnt crazy expensive and can support the GPU. Was looking at this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182298) (The 550W), but am not sure it will work with the Radeon considering it's 2x6+2 Pins (not that I honestly explicitly know what that means) and the GPU I have only has a slot for a 6 pin. I feel like it would work but want to make sure, or know if there are better PSU's out there for a relative price. Thanks! :)

Any decent 500W PSU will power that card and pretty much any CPU without problems.

My recommendation would be to ditch that case though and send it back, seeing as the PSU that comes with it is a throwaway piece of crap, and get a better case with no PSU. You're definitely making the best choice getting rid of the PSU!

However if you can't send the case back (like if you have had it for a while) and you're stuck with it then that Rosewill PSU will be fine. They're perfectly good units for the price. I tend to go with Corsair but it's a preference thing I guess.

Regarding the PCIe connectors - don't worry. Some cards have 6 pin, some have 8 pin connectors. The PSU provides plugs which can be used for both, hence why they're...

So this PSU will work fine with your GPU.
