Hello! I was recently given this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LAMXYYK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Processor: AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz 4-Core Processor
Motherboard: AMD 760G Chipset
Video Card: GeForce GT 730 2GB GDDR3 Video Card
Memory: 8GB DDR3 Gaming Memory
Power Supply: 430 Watt High Performance PSU
HDD: 1 TB 7200RPM HDD
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

It was given to me by my brother, as he had gotten a new PC. However, it does not run Team Fortress 2 very well (gets to 40 FPS in hectic fights.) I understand a decent CPU is required to run Valve games, so I need recommendations for CPU's both compatible with the current specs listed, and around $150 ($200 possibly.) Thank you for your answers!

Solution
I think a newer GPU would help out more. My AMD ATHLON 64 X2 (half the cores, much slower) and a GTX 460 ran TF2 well enough. A quick look at benchmarks shows that a newer video card would run circles around the GT 730.

I'd invest in a GTX 1050 personally.

Solution
since the recommended video card for this game is GeForce 7900, and I found www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid...geforce-gt-730...vs-geforce-7900...

Jun 18, 2014 - The GeForce 7900 GS has 13.4 GB/sec greater memory bandwidth than the GT 730, which means that the memory performance of the GeForce 7900 GS is slightly better than the GT 730. ... However, the actual shader performance of the GT 730 is 134 and the actual shader performance of the GeForce 7900 GS is 9.
I agree with justiceinacan you need to up your video card,

150$ budget is pretty good to get that completely out of the way with a nice 1050 for about 140, I checked your power consumption with the 1050 ti and it hover about 275w so your 430w power supply should handle it easily enough

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB SC GAMING ACX 2.0 Video Card ($139.98 @ Newegg)
