I'm trying to build a PC that solely runs a minecraft server for myself and a couple of friends and I figured the first place to start was the CPU but I'm not very tech savvy. I only know of the Ryzen 5 3600 because its what I have on my personal computer but I figured that might be a bit overkill for a minecraft server with only a handful of people. From what I have gathered I should be looking for a processor with at least 3.6 GHz or better. I came across a ($20) intel 4820K but apparently the boards for them were discontinued and in the end would be a lot more expensive in total.
Are there any good, cheap and or notable processors I should keep an eye out for?
(I dunno if I should make a seperate post elsewhere but I would also be happy to get recommendations for the boards, case, and other components for the computer).
I really want to make this thing budget friendly around the 50$ price range but I have no idea what parts to look out for. There are videos on youtube titled "$50 minecraft server build" but they seem to stitch together anything together as long as the cpu is an i5 processor (which I guess can be any), 2 sticks of 8GB RAM, and an SSD. I just don't really know if any i5 processor would do the trick or if I should only go for specific models.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for reading.
