Question Good CPU+Mobo combo for £300?

Will mainly be for CSGO, which is CPU intensive. will be with 1060 3gb

CSGO favours Intel. If you only care about this game then an i5 9400, if other games are important then as above a Ryzen setup.

i have a R7 2700 and i play csgo at 500 fps with pro league setting i dont think he will need more than 200 fps so a R7 2700X is plenty of power

Yes it has traditionally favored Intel and still does around 10-15%

However, the gap is not enough to justify an extra $100 on a budget build especially since the 2700x outperforms the i5 9400 in every category including CS Go for $60 more. thats futureproofing if i've ever seen it

exactly what i thought for me amd has been wi.ning in term of price for me they are cheap with amazing preformance

As I said if all you care about is CS GO the best performance for X budget is Intel. That is different to saying Ryzen is more than enough which it is for most. However as soon as you consider other games then go Ryzen. I generally don’t like the i5 given Ryzen options.
