Good cpu, motherboard, gpu, ram, and power supply build for 750 (or less)?

Hi im noob... I am doing a build and would like some good advice on what is a good combination of hardware for around 750$.

I am looking for a quad core processor with overclock ability, a comparable motherboard that has sata III ports, usb 3 ports, PCI-Express 3.0, and good on board sound and gigabit ethernet... At least 8gb of ram(fast and maybe overclockable?) and also a good comparable power supply.

I will be using this build for gaming and music recording (but no video editing or 3d sampling).

Parts im considering:

Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz EDITION OC 2GB GDDR5 : 252.49$

- not sure about what ram though...

Are these good parts? do the balance out? could i get the same for cheaper? can i make a better build for the same money? (or less?)

Also i don't care about brands as long as the suit my needs...

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated...

So intell is good with the 7870? because i was planing on getitng an amd so that they would senergize better...

oddly enough AMD CPUs play slightly better with nvidia gpus... just one more sign the company is schizophrenic and disorganised. Apparently the "Red" (ATI/GPU) and "Green" (AMD/CPU) sides of AMD still aren't integrated and don't really communicate with eachother.

nope. strangely AMD Radeons test better on intel machines... Nvidia gpus show little to no chip bias... but Radeon's certainly do... in fact most GCN Radeons perform better the better the cpu they're stuck with. As a result they perform best with an Intel.

There is no PLANNED favoritism by either Radeon or Nvidia, neither gpus are programed for a certain CPU. Radeon gpus just happen to be structurally designed to operate better with a better cpu... as a result, to get the most out of one you should pair it with an intel.
