Good desktop Wifi card

im looking for a good wifi card for my desktop for gaming. im a bit worried because the desktop is kind of far away from my wifi router (if thats what its called) maybe 40ft. so im worried about lag i might get when gaming online.

anyway i dont know much about internet and wifi etc. so can anyone possibly help me find a good wifi card? not sure about a budget because i dont know how much they really cost. just one that will do the job. thanks

forgot to mention its about 40ft but also on the floor above. so i dont know if a floor could cause extra bad connection
