good enough for 1080?

Solution
I would recommend the 250GB Samsung 850 Evo.
Still the best value SSD on the market in terms of price to performance.
If you want to install an SSD, simply download a migration tool (preferably from windows) and select the drive you would like to transfer your OS to.
Make sure that you only transfer the operating system, and leave behind other files on the HDD, which you should then put as your secondary drive in the new PC.
Put the boot drive (SSD) on sata port 0, followed by 1 for the HDD.
It only makes games load faster, not run faster in case you were wondering.
Your build was not optimal. This mother board has an m.2 slot, witch you may need further down the line and is cheaper.
Also, there is no point in filling all your ram slots, as this platform only support dual, not quad channel. THis way you can add some more later.

With the lowered cost i've managed to squeeze you in an SSD, whitch is a definite must for almost the same price, though i strongly recommend taht you add another 20 and get the 240 gig version: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-internal-hard-drive-asp550ss3240gmc

As for this beeing able to serve a 1080, thats a definite yes.

OP already owns the parts, he probably upgraded from 8gb to 16.

why is ssd needed? I don't really know how to use an ssd for boot and my major games and my hdd for everything else. I can only setup one or the other. should I look into it or what.

Only if you want faster boot times.
Lowers startup time to around 15-30 seconds depending on what SSD you get.
It makes games LOAD faster, not run faster, but is a good thing to have for exclusively OS and a few select games.

it's not needed but makes navigating windows a lot faster

all modern computers can have multiple hard drives, it's not hard

reduces loading times on games installed to the ssd as well

I understand what it is. but I just am no professional on how to only set it for the boot and not have anything else go onto it. also do I need to buy a thing to help the ssd fit into the bay.

Definitely. Like i said, It's a must these days. Completly changes the computing experience. Even a small one like the one i listed used strictly for windows and with the games still on the hdd. Ideally, you would get an ssd that is 250ish so you can have both windows and a couple of games on it.

This is a good to the point guide, inlcuding how to setup Steam etc. for teh task: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMo8krAJd5Q

It's not rocket science. And you don't really need that "thing" they are very thin and ligh, you can just use 2 screws on one side and that's it.
