Good enough spec for AC3, BF3, other new games?

Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum and i was hoping you could help me with choosing a spec for my new gaming desktop. It will be fairly economic, so I've found some suggestions, please let me know if these will be able to play some of the new games like AC3, BF3 etc.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: To be able to play the newer breed of games, since my laptop can no longer keep up

The answer to you question is BARELY. That first AMD processor you chose is really not all that good for gaming and a GT650 is barey playable. I can build you a way better system for the same amount of cash. The best and cheapest processor for oyur budget is the FX6300 for 129.99. It's just like the biggest baddest 8350 except it has two less cores. And for a graphics card I would get either a GTX650 Ti or an AMD HD 7850. The 650Ti you can find for 129.99 and the 7850 you can find for 159.99. Personally I'd like the 7850 but if your on a tight budget go with he 650 Ti. That i5 you chose is pretty good although I would go with the AMD 6300 because it's overclockable. I would get some decent RAM too. Don't go the cheap route. Get you 8GB of some 1600Mhz RAM. You can find 8GB of some good Kingston or Corsair for 40 bucks. That's not too much to ask. So if your going to get a graphics card and spend 110$, why not spend an extra 20 bucks and get the 650 Ti that can actually play some games on high settings.

BTW I found all of this on PCPARTPICKER.COM and it's lower than what your budget is in both instances. You could even get a 3570k if you wanted to and still be in your budget. But I figured I would stay with the cheaper processors.

Your going to want a motherboard that costs at least 100 bucks so you get USB 3.0 and SATAIII 6gbps, with out those your buying a really bad MoBo. The MoBo I chose has all of that, and you can overclock and have 2 graphics cards in SLI. You gonna want a good MoBo, no reason to skimp there. If you have an AMD you want to get a 990FX motherboard, if you have an Intel, you want to get a Z77 motherboard. Not just cause you can overclock but because they have all the features, and you can kind of future proof your build. Plus if your getting an SSD you'll need SATAIII 6gbps, and if you want fast USB speeds you'll need USB 3.0. And trust me you will want all of these features if you want your build to be future proofed for a couple years. If you don't get this you'll be stuck in 2011.
