CPU: AMD 6300 6 Core Processor clocked at 3.50 ghz
GPU: MSI R9 270 2 gig gaming oc edition
MOBO: MSI p-23
RAM: 8 gigs of DDR3 1600mhz ram

It's ok-ish. The FX CPU will probably suffer a bit as time passes, but the rest is ok for playing.
Depending on the game, at least IMO, you're looking at 1080p high/medium detail gameplay now and 1080p low/medium detail gameplay in a year or two. If you always keep low details and can cope with 30fps, it'll probably last up to 3 years, unless we get to see some kind of technological breakthrough that makes anything we have suddenly obsolete.

Since we're slowly drifting towards the 8GB minimum, I would upgrade that to 16, but since you're not going to max out anything recent with that rig and since its usage would be limited mostly to maxing out details on a gaming rig, you'll probably be more than ok with the 8GB you have. My advice...

My advice is to just keep saving for your next rig and resist the urge when things start to slow down, so that you can get something which will last a bit more and performs way better.
