I'm looking for a good freesync monitor. Here are my current specs: AMD RX480 Intel i5-6500 16gb ddr4
I'm looking for a gaming monitor.(I play games like dirty bomb, overwatch, and rocket league to name a few.) I'd like to get a resolution bump from my current 1080p monitor and I'd like to get a monitor that displays colors well.
I'm looking at the HP Omen 32 inch monitor right now(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J90PKPG/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER). I was wondering what people think of this monitor and if anyone has any better suggestions.
My current budget is about $500.

No, it certainly doesn't need to be a 32" monitor. XD
The big thing I want from a new monitor is a good color pallet. A higher resolution would be nice, but would a 144hz, like you suggested, be better for me since I play a lot of multiplayer competitive games?

And could my rx480 and i5-6500 get the benefits of a 144hz in most games? (I've always got vsync on so I actually don't know what my average fps could be in most games.)

The ASUS MG279Q is a good option though slightly out of budget at around $550.

It deppends heavily on which games you play.
Most of AAA or more demanding ones won't play nicely in 1440p at High/Ultra settings with the RX480 alone, neither would with a GTX 1070, for 1440p and above you'll need at least a 1070. Therefore that's way i recommended a 1080p monitor.

About the refresh rate, yeah you will, fast paced games, FPS, benefits hugely from higher refresh rates due do it's smoothness. And even if the fps is lower or higher than 144, that's what's FreeSync is for, to adjust the monitor to the capabilities of the card and provide a better image overall, you'll be fine.
