good fx cpu?

fx-6300 is great for gaming. It won't bottleneck games. You can get any GPU you want and the fx-6300 won't slow it down.

Haven't seen any reviews on the fx 6350 yet, but the fx 6300 was a solid choice for gaming. Not the fastest Cpu around, but plenty of horsepower to run any video card out right now. The 6350 is 30w higher in draw, 400mhz higher in stock clock so it'll be interesting to see how well it overclocks. Might be better to just get the fx 6300 and overclock and save the 15 dollars.

The performance between the fx-6300 and fx-8320 is the same in gaming. So, why not spend more money on the GPU which has a stronger correlation to gaming performance?

Streaming honestly. I'm assuming the dude who is building a computer with an FX system is doing so because of the better ability to stream games at the lower price point. Else you're better off with an intel solution for purely gaming.

no im not streaming. and i also was looking at the 6300, and the 6350 on pcpartpicker and the both are $10-15 apart from prices mine aswell get the 6350.

That's the thing though, if the 6350 is nothing more than a factory overclocked 6300...save the money and get a slightly better heatsink/fan. If it overclocks higher than a 6300 reliably, that's another thing. Wait for a couple of reviews from sites before making a decision.

Actually, the FX6350 is a "higher binned" CPU. It has a higher TDP as well.

Essentially what this means is, the silicon is rated for higher voltage. That puts the silicon on par with the FX8350.

If it's in the same category...FX8320's will OC to 4.6-4.8 GHz reliably on air cooling, and FX8350's will hit 5.0+ GHz with good air cooling.

For overclocking, the FX6350 might well hit 4.8-5.0 GHz because of the higher bin of the CPU.

I think for $20 more (as much as the FX6300 used to be) it's a very sound buy.

Newegg has the fx-6300 and fx-6350 at the same price. Weird. Last week AMD annouced it was cutting prices on its CPUs. Supposedly the fx-6300 was supposed to go from $138 to $118, but I haven't seen it happening yet.

At $118 the fx-6300 has no competition, and don't even get me started on i3s.
