I'm looking for a 1440p (2560x1440) monitor that's around 23-28 inches, somewhere around there. I don't care too much if it has speakers on it. I'd prefer an IPS/PLS (which is better?) monitor and it should have a fairly low response time, as I am going to use it for gaming. I honestly don't care too much for refresh rate, 60hz should do it but if you can find one higher that still has good image quality and everything else I listed, then go for it. Now, the price range. I'd prefer to have it under $400, but it can be a little above. Also, it needs to be available to be shipped to America.

Edit: Forgot to mention the one's I'm looking at: http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-Evolution-LED-Monitor/dp/B00BUI44US/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1385332060&sr=1-1

First, do you have enough graphic card (and CPU) to game at that resolution? 1920x1080 requires the card render 2,073,600 pixels and texels PER frame. The 2560x1440 display will up that to 3,686,400 pixels/texels PER frame. That's a 78% increase in the work the card has to do now.

I have a Radeon 7970 (3gb) and an AMD 8320, I think my gfx card can handle 1440p, but if not tell me

I would recommend the ASUS PB278Q It is selling as low as $450 but is a $750 27 inch 1440p monitor. It looks great and has really crisp picture quality and colors. Asus is a trusted name brand and they built a really high quality monitor. It might be more expensive than the other monitors you are looking at but I think it is amazing. I plan on using it for the next 4 years at least.

Can't you just use 1080p on the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY10G0367 monitor?

I'm sure you can. But unlike older CRT monitors, the pixels are fixed on a LCD display. Therefore, anything other than the native resolution will be sub par in appearance. Just like trying to use your 1080p display at a lower rez.

If i i find that my frame rate is to low because im using 1440p instead of 1080p monitor i can just use 1080p in games instead. (Cuz im planning on buying the best graphic there is this summer)

Yes, you can do that if you like. But as I mentioned, the display will be lesser quality if it isn't at its native resolution.
