whilst a 760 isn't bad I would agree with your recommendations.

Also the PSU isn't exactly amazing nor are RM650W's

OP can you link us to where you're buying from on cyberpower so i know what section?(personally do not use the site)

I assume building the machine yourself is out of the question but have you considered purchasing the parts and contacting a local PC shop to build it? This may be cheaper and you'd be able to get the exact parts you desire not just what Cyberpower have on offer.

+1 to sizzling, just, he doesn't have money for Intel 530/Mushkin Chronos DX, or Western Digital Red. What makes You think he'll have cash for GTX 970? Even with saved money on CPU, I don't think he can afford GTX 970, or You checked?

AshyCFC - what in the hell is everyones problem with RM series?

From my personal experience, they're reliable, and quiet, and do everything they're thrown at themselves. Never had a single problem with RM. It's not HX, or AX, I know, but it's a great entry-level PSU, and has no par on it's level, besides some Seasonics and maybe XFX.

well ignoring the rm series(Cyberpower don't offer much choice of PSU at all really)

This is something I came up with

I also included OS+Arctic Paste and the Cooler Master 412S cooler but did not get an overclocking service. Came to : £1095.60 including VAT.

What worries me though is that the 970's Cyberpower have on offer are only reference cooled.

https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Cyberpower_Z97_I7_Configurator

this is the link i am using to configure this pc. I have assembled pcs in past and dont mind giving it a go again, its just i have never installed a water cooler and its for someone as a gift or if there is anything goes wrong their warranty will cover otherwise i will be the one getting the calls for help.

You can get a perfectly good air cooler to overclock on (will the person even notice if the PC is overclocked or not, overclocking doesn't add "LOADS" of extra performance when gaming)

The whole point about things going wrong is a good point though so I can understand why you'd want to order from somewhere you could send back easily.

Just for varieties sake you could also check out https://www.vibox.co.uk/ as they've got a Christmas promotion going.
