i'm planning on building a computer this summer and i was wondering what was good monitor? i want one with hdmi and speakers because i want to use my xbox on it and i want one with ips. i want to spend under $300
I know mine has speakers, but I use headphones. http://www.retrevo.com/s/Acer-H274HL-Monitors-review-manual/id/23955dj886/t/1-2/ for a review and specs.
I have the first one that was mentioned by Heironious and i used it with my PS3 and XBox before getting my computer. it has speakers... but they are 5 watt iirc. The only audio out on it is Digital... so you cant really plug any into it.

Nvm, only 2-watt... and they were kinda tinny sounding, but as i said, i used it for a few months.
There are monitors that have an HDMI input and AUDIO OUTPUT to speakers. They pass through the HDMI audio to desktop speakers. That's a far better way to go.
Checklist:
1) HDMI input is HDCP compatible
2) Audio output (i.e. red/white RCA output)
3) Good customer reviews
4) refresh rate etc. applicable for gaming
*27" warning. Many people dislike 27" screens that are only 1920x1080 due to the ability to see individual pixels clearly.
I don't own this, but it's worth investigating. It has TWO HDMI inputs. It does have speakers, but it also has a headphone jack so you could use that for either headphones or to Desktop Speakers (Male to Male 3.5mm stereo cable).

ok thanks , after doing some research i found out the newer model has speakers to.
The above is a TN panel. Sorry. Still, it's a good example (2xHDMI input, audio output, low ms and designed for consoles. Not all monitors work with consoles.).
