Good Gaming Replacement for ASUS VW266H?

I've been using a 25.5" ASUS VW266H (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236047) as my gaming monitor for years, and I love it to death except for one tiny issue it's always had:

When white objects move across the screen quickly, there is a noticeable black "shadow" where it was for a second before the monitor refreshes again. I hate everything about this, but I have no idea what causes it or if its even fixable.

So i'm building a new rig and looking for a new monitor to go with it. It will be used primarily for gaming, and ideally will not have this awful shadow issue. Can anyone recommend a really solid 1920x1200 16:10 monitor for gaming? I'm willing to go down to the 25" or 24" sizes as well, since 25.5" is some sort of crazy outlier product :/ Thanks!

You don't need a replacement, you need to turn the overdrive setting down a notch. To achieve that 2ms response time ASUS uses a very aggressive overdrive (response time compensation). Its called "Trace Free" in your on screen menu and is most likely set to 60 (on a scale of 0-100). When monitor's have their overdrive set too aggressively it can cause reverse ghosting or overshoot resulting in the dark trails or images you see. If you turn it down to 40 (or possible 20) it should still be fast enough to control regular ghosting without the overshoot problem.

Thanks! To be honest, I haven't played with the settings on this monitor in at least four years since I calibrated the colors. I just figured all that Trace Free Overdrive stuff was marketing nonsense mumbo-jumbo like they do with a lot of other displays. I'll give it a shot.
