[SOLVED] Good GPU upgrade for a GTX 1060/Ryzen 1600 config?

My current config is a 1060 6gb with ryzen 1600 (non x) and 16 gigs of ram.

The main question is if I upgrade only the GPU in my config to a 5700XT or better will I see major bottlenecks in performance?
My aim is to hit 144hz on 1080p, which the 1060 6gb can do now but only on some of my games. (I want to upgrade to amd because one of my monitors is already freesync compatible and I will get a 3rd one that will be freesync as well)
I know that I can upgrade my ryzen to 3rd gen, however I am not convinced that a 3600 or 3700 is worth the extra penny for the performance difference those provide, unless the 1600 is a major bottleneck.

I am gonna probably wait for new amd cards before deciding on the upgrade path, some suggestions would be welcome! :)

Edit: Some other useful information: 600W PSU, 2400mhz ram, budget is around what a 5700xt costs

You would really need to OC the R1600 CPU a little to negate the slight bottleneck. I don't think the bottleneck would be huge. However, the CPU is nearly as important for hitting 144hz/fps consistently.

With that said, if you could get the 1600 to 3.9 that would help, then judge with the new GPU if you are achieving what you want. Otherwise getting a 2600x/2700x with higher base and boost clocks would be a help too, or maybe a B450 with a Ryzen 3600 which along with the 5700xt, I would think would be very capable at 144hz.

Thanks for the answer! :)
I was never really into OCing my stuff, that's why i settled for 1600 and not for the x variant 2 years ago. If it's only a slight issue that's fine. If i remember correctly the 1st gen ryzens were not that great at oc in the first place.

One more thing, isn't 3rd gen ryzen compatible with b350?
My board's page says it is up to 2nd gen but I Heard 3rd gen should have the same sockets too. (My board is an msi pc mate b350)
