Good graphics for Optiplex 760 & hd6570

I'm looking for a graphics card that's going to fit into an Optiplex 760 (Dell) - power supply is 255W.

I'm currently running hd5450 so anything better than that will be fine, I was thinking of buying the hd6570 - but is it worth the upgrade?

My budget is around $50 - $70

Processor: E8400 (Dual Core 3.0)

The biggest one, minitower.

If this is the same nameplate as on your PSU, you only have a single small 18amp +12V rail for powering the entire PC.

The HD 6570 is a 50W card maxed out. Depending on the wattage of the CPU you have, the HD 6570 may be close to overloading the PSU. If you notice the PC shutting down or rebooting, that may be a sign that the PSU can't keep up.
I'd probably chance it if it were mine, but you can make your own decision.

As an alternative, the newer GT 730 64 bit DDR5 is only a 25W card and is slightly more powerful than the older HD 6570.

Not that one, as you can see in the link of the PSU image it says For-Dell-Optiplex-Desktop-DT meaning it's for Desktop Optiplexes, mine is Minitower :) I've decided to buy HD7750

You're going from a 19W to a 55W GPU on a 255W PSU. If it were a good quality PSU then that would be fine, however as yours isn't, it's a bit risky. Just be aware that when a PSU fails it can damage your whole computer.

Your case is more than big enough for that card. What I don't know is if anything would stop that card, which is one and a half slots wide from fitting. By this I mean is the graphics card slot hard up against another card or right at the bottom of the case where there isn't the room for a 1.5 slot card, if not then you should be fine.

Didn't quite understand what you were saying, and no, there aren't any other cards in my PC right now, except this one (that I'm hopefully going to fit).

The only problem is the heatsink/CPU fan, it's quite huge, which can stop the HD7750.

It would be helpful if you could take a photo of the inside so that I can see where the heatsink is in relation to the graphics card. As you can't attach photos directly to this forum you need to use a site like imgur http://imgur.com/ and then paste the "BBcode" in to your reply.

Ok, looks good to me, you have more than enough room for the HD 7750. That large heatsink and cover is above the slot for the card, and while I don't think the card is long enough to get that far back, even if it did the card will sit below it.
