Good Half Height Low profile video card PCIe

Hi guys,
I have seen a few topics about the video cards which can fit in the xps 200 (or dimension 5150c in Europe) but there was no real conclusion to the thing.
For those who don't know, the video card has to be PCI-e and half height or low profile (the Video card'c PCB is narrower than other classic cards).

To summarise, here is a list of the cards available at the moment for this case:

- Radeon X600 SE Hypermemory
Smart shader 2, Smooth vision Video Shader
Came with the computer, I don't have a link.

I believe, all of them would fit. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I've read here and there that the X700 and the Geforce 6600 could heat a lot and crash or burn. Anyone confirming this? Could you please post links to back up your info?

Performances:
I know none of this cards are aimed at hardcore gamers because of medium to poor performances.Unfortunately, that's all I can choose from as I'm not planning on buying a new case (and mother board) any time soon.
Could you please tell me which one would perform better (less worst) in recent games and which one are future-proof (understand would support Vista and the likes of HDMI, HDR, HDTV and whatnot).

Nope both are very efficient cards using 110nm process.

First the X700 would perform best from your list, then the GF6600, both being very close and trading blows. But...

None support HDMI or more importantly HDCP, which brings me to my recommendation for you. Sapphire is launching a low profile X1600 with HDCP equipped HDMI support (1 DVI connector 1 HDMI) sometime this month (seen pics, aticles, but seen none for sale yet);

It's performance would mop the floor with the others you've listed, and has all the latest game features, and has the future HDCP/HDMI support that would be best for anyone considering such things right now. I'd say wait for that as it seems perfect for your situation.

Gecube is about to release the same kind of cards X1300 HDMI and X1600 HDMI.

Why isn't there already a classic X1600 in low profile? :?

Take Sapphire over GigaPuke, err.. GeXcube.
BTW, notice the initial information the press release said HDMI+DVI, but the pictures clearly have HDMI+VGA, just something to note. (You can do HDMI->DVI though, but it would be single link, not the dual-link of the typical DVI)

There probably is, but I didn't really keep tabs on it, I know of these because of their HDMI abilities.

So they still exist for those people who are unfortunate enough to be forced to work on a low profile flex type case computer or if you need it for some kind of uber small case.
