I use Charter internet which is cable, I am connected through a wifi connection using a PCIe wireless adapter for my PC. I use speedtest.charter.net to determine my "stats." I get around 30 mbps download, 4 mbps upload, around 15 ms latency, and about 3 ms jitter. When I start to play any game, such as Battlefield 4, Battlefield 3, CoD MW3, Minecraft, DayZ Standalone, I have a high ping (400+!!) it sometimes will jump from 40 ping to over 200 in battlefield 4 and I get kicked all the time for high ping in all the games listed above. What should I do? I am less than 20 feet from the router with 1 wall in the way, same floor, it is a Belkin N600 DB Wireless N+ Router; I have also tried some semi-old Linksys router and got around the same speeds off the speedtest, but I got terrible ping, I ran the speedtest 5 times for each router. I have connected straight to the Modem using Ethernet and it works fine, I have tried a macbook and it has the same fine stats, haven't played any games on the mac though, Macs aren't good for that lol, so I know it isn't my adapter or modem. But I cannot have my PC where the router is, it has to stay in my room, so it looks like it's my router, but I get fine speeds and latency and jitter according to speedtest, is my router just getting overloaded? Time for a new router?
