My brother is looking for a good computer to use mainly for gaming for around $300 dollars and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of a computer he could buy. Thanks for any suggestions!

It would be decent for 720p gaming and maybe 900p, but it would not be very good @ 1080p

You are not going to get a laptop mainly for gaming for $300. You would probably see that range start from $500 - $600. If you are wanting a PC for $300, then you have more choice. What games does he want to play, Minecraft, Battlefield 4, COD? If he wants to play BAttlefield or any other resource-intensive game then look into higher end computers. ~Even though it is way over your budget, you will get quite great performance out of a little build. Remember, if you don't know how to build a PC, there is loads of tutorials online based on how to do it. And it is a lot cheaper than buying a prebuilt.

Also, the build I listed above is not used to play high end games. It would be good to play games such as Minecraft. You might also want to add a dedicated graphics card to get more of a fps boost.

$300 is gonna get you Perfect Minecraft but like Low to Medium (with very little FPS like 20 if your lucky) i think you should go with a APU like the Kaveri for $300, i can give you a link to Really good $300 build ideas if you want
