I am embarking on a new build, trying not to overdo it, but want a machine that will be good in 6 years. I decided on AsRock because I had good luck with a Z75 Pro3 I just used for a re-build, and I was happy, it worked just fine. Plus I could get the memory to run at 2400mhz w/o trying to OC the 3770, which is non"K". Although it does do it's turbo thing, which speccy says 4.4 for second or so per core....
I have the motherboard, case, and PSU. And am debating between i5 & i7 K skylakes, and whether to go with 2x8gb, or 2x16gb 3200mhz. 16gb DDR4 seems to be at a premium right now, and the day I get it, it will be outdated, lol. Win 10, from what I understand, will use as much RAM as you can get, so will XMP handle 2x16, or am I fine with 2x8? Also I built a system a couple of years ago, and regret not paying the +100 for a i7, as opposed to an i5. It was a 2K build, and I skimped on the biggest part.
Thanks for reading, Larry T :)

The husband's anonymous is funny as hell, LMAO. 16gb will probably be fine for now, and if I get 2x8, I can always add 16 more. It seems like hardware is always ahead of software! Look at TV's, they are promoting 4K TV's, and hardly anyone transmits that resolution. And if Comcast transmits 4K, they will charge a fortune for it, they charge $10 for HD tech, as if it is "special". Sorry, went off on a tangent. I hate Comcast!!
